GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE
The Group Study Exchange (GSE) Committee is currently recruiting
individuals to apply for the Team Leader position for the upcoming
exchange with District 1960 in Southern Portugal. The exchange will
occur from May 1 through May 30, 2010.
As the only Rotarian on the trip, the Team Leader will assume charge of
the team and act as a liaison between the team and the host clubs. The
Team Leader also handles all administrative responsibilities of
preparing for the exchange and interacts with Rotary International.
The GSE Team Leader must be a Rotarian, physically able to make the
journey (which can be strenuous sometimes), should be an excellent
organizer, and available for travel dates of May 1 to May 31, 2010, plus
available to prepare and attend all training meetings in advance of the
trip. The team leader will assist with choosing the team and preparing
the team for the visit and will participate as a host when the Inbound
team from Portugal visits our district in April 2010. In addition, the
team leader and the team prepare and give presentations about their
experience to promote the GSE program.
Please consider this opportunity for a wonderful experience in another
culture. The applications are due August 10, 2009 and the leader will be
selected very soon thereafter.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to be familiar with the Portuguese
language and culture prior to departure.
Information and Team Leader Applications can be found on-line at:

THE END
Next week's program (July 9^th ) will be Roger Thornton from the Royal
Family Kid's Camp. If you recall, Royal Family Camp received a Community
Needs grant this year. It will be interesting to hear about the things
they do and the kids they serve.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Laurie Shooltz
President
